What do you have to do to drive 1 km deep into the St. Ignaz tunnel from the Prettau mine? Basically not much, warm clothing and good shoes and a sense of adventure are required! You can get a raincoat, a light and a protective helmet on site, then you can start the journey with the mine train into the interior of the mountain, where copper was mined as early as the 15th century! In the approx. 75 minute, 360 m long exploration tour you get interesting insight into the hard everyday life of the miners. Also interesting: the “Little ones in the mine” hands-on tour for the kids. The exhibition mine is open from April to November, reservation required!
